vax

Wow, It baffles me the way people think today? There is now controversy in whether you should get your Child Vaccinated or not, Parents are up in arms over this and refuse to listen to Scientific reason why their child should be vaccinated and the benefits.

I was born in the swinging sixties, a time when the disease was not as controllable as it is Today, Technology was not as advanced, however when it came to Medical issues our Parents always allowed the Professionals to decide our Vaccinations.

Schools back then were obligated to give you the best Medical help, combatting things like measles mumps and polio.

In the 70s when you were at High School the nurse would give you injections especially for Polio, which was quite important at that time.

I had all the medication I was supposed to have and although I did get all the infections even after the injections, it probably saved my life.

If you contract the Chicken Pox as an adult you do not get the spots etc, you get the shingles and that can make you very ill.

Whilst I will never understand why parents are up in arms about this, I do respect their wishes, but I am saying it never did us any harm back then.

Below are just some infections’ immunization will help.

  • Flu.
  • Diphtheria (D)
  • tetanus (T)
  • pertussis (whooping cough, P)
  • polio (IPV)
  • haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib)
  • hepatitis B.
  • measles.
