Taking the Law into your own hands?

Hey folks, hope you are well, as we trundle through this awful pandemic, we are now faced with another disaster, America is in a bad way, and all I can say is wow, when the Law takes the law into its own hands we are faced with a pretty hard task of trying to figure out right from wrong, and sadly because some guy thought because he had the authority he could just abuse that power and decide to take someone’s life?

I am not calling this a race thing, too often the race card is used in all scenarios when things go wrong, to be honest with you I don’t think it would have mattered who was under that cops knee, he would have probably done the same, tragic as it is, and quite rightly he should face the full force of the law for breaking his own rules. Rules he should have been using to keep his fellow Americans safe not to take someones life, and now look , all over America people are up in arms and riots are developing, I think its horrific and I hope as an outsider who cares about America and its people that this is settled peacefully and quickly before it really gets out of hand, to all my American friends, stay safe.

Los Angeles curfew is harshest since 1992 riots, police chief says

From CNN’s Cheri Mossburg.

Pedestrians walk past boarded up storefronts on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, California on June 1, 2020, following a weekend of looting by people taking advantage of the protest situation in response to the death of George Floyd. – Thousands of National Guard troops patrolled major US cities after five consecutive nights of protests over racism and police brutality that boiled over into arson and looting, sending shock waves through the country. The death Monday of an unarmed black man, George Floyd, at the hands of police in Minneapolis ignited this latest wave of outrage in the US over law enforcement’s repeated use of lethal force against African Americans — this one like others before captured on cellphone video. 1. It is a shame when some enter the police force for the wrong reasons. My oldest son saw some of this first hand during his time in Berkeley California when he tried to support a peaceful protest on University tuition hikes and ended up rescuing a friend who had been hit with a rubber bullet. You see, 7 local forces responded and decided to use the student protest as a training exercise. Just like good old #45, strike a firm tone rather than a conciliatory one and watch the whole thing explode. Might makes right. What happened in Minneapolis was murder, no matter who did it, no matter what colour either party was. But, the underlying feeling is fear and panic. Nobody should have to fear the Police if they are law abiding. Nobody should be denied due process for any reason. Stay well William. Allan

    1. well said Allan alas if we cannot trust the law enforcers who can we trust, but it isnt really about colour, it could have happened to anyone, what upsets me is everyone jumps on the bandwagon saying its racially motivated and quite clearly although horrible I dont think it was.. thanks pal, stay safe.
